William J. “Bill” Hartle

Life

William J. Hartle — known as Bill — was born 14 October 1937 in Detroit, the son of Lloyd and Catherine (MacKinnon) Hartle and the brother of Beverly J. (Hartle) Derry. He married Janet Davis Fisher on 1 October 1966. He taught at Saginaw Township Community Schools and coached soccer and swimming. He died suddenly on 21 November 2016 in Fort Myers, Florida, at age 79. His obituary names four surviving sisters: Beverly, Betty, Ann, and Dell; a predeceased son, Scott Hartle; and a daughter, Kim Fizell.
