Life

Annie McLean is recorded on Find a Grave (memorial created in 2022) as the wife of Archibald McKinnon (1796–1866). Archibald's memorial lists her as his spouse and names Neal McKinnon (1827–1905), Annie McKinnon and Catherine McKinnon McLean as their children, which would make her Neil McKinnon's mother. No birth, death or burial is recorded, and her memorial notes only "died in Scotland?". Her surname is her maiden name. This is a compiled family-tree link; no parish or civil record has been seen. Caution: a user-built Ancestry tree instead records an Archibald MacKinnon (b. 1796 on Tiree, d. 14 Feb 1866) with mother Ann McLean, so she may be Archibald's mother rather than his wife. The Tiree genealogy site lists an Archibald McKinnon and Ann McLean married about 1778 at Ruaig, but those are the parents of Fingon McKinnon (baptized 1795) and his siblings Archibald (b. about 1787), John, Donald and Catherine, not an Archibald born in 1796.

Claims in the record

Archibald McKinnon (b. about 1796, Tiree; d. 14 Feb 1866, Bruce County, Ontario) — or possibly his son: see the caution above
Neil McKinnon (b. 17 Jul 1827, Tiree)
Annie McKinnon (b. 1827) and Catherine (McKinnon) McLean, per Find a Grave
Unknown — a Find a Grave note says 'died in Scotland?'
Find a Grave memorial 244496105 and Archibald McKinnon's memorial 135357637 (compiled family-tree links)
Find a Grave memorial 244496105 was created in 2022 by a family-tree contributor and carries only 'died in Scotland?'. A user-built Ancestry tree makes Ann McLean Archibald's mother. The Ruaig couple Archibald McKinnon and Ann McLean (m. about 1778) in the Tiree homesteads list had a son Archibald born about 1787, not 1796.

Search the Tiree Old Parish Register (from 1766) for the marriage of Archibald McKinnon and Annie McLean, probably in the 1820s, and for the baptisms of Neil (1827), Annie and Catherine. Check the 1861 census of Bruce Township, Ontario for Archibald's household, and Lovat Cemetery records.
